Preparing for your next career move? Need to fine tune your interviewing skills? Then this workshop, conducted by a local area HR professional, is for you! Learn what questions to expect and how to best answer them. Formulate an interview preparation strategy.

RESUME WRITING WORKSHOP. Wednesday, 22 May (0900 - 1200)
One of the most important and intimidating steps in the job search process is writing a solid resume that gets the attention you want and need. An effective resume will open the door to your next career opportunity. This course assists attendees with developing a resume and cover letter to best represent their skills and qualifications.

FRANCHISING INFORMATION SESSION. Wednesday, 22 May (1100 - 1230)
Many people dream of being an entrepreneur but starting a business from scratch with a business plan, investors, and the legal issues associated with a new business can be intimidating, especially for people who have limited resources or business experience. Purchasing and operating a franchise is a way to fulfill the entrepreneurial dream. Franchising is sometimes described as a way to go into business for yourself but not by yourself. This briefing is designed to provide participants information about franchising and business ownership and help determine the best opportunity.

Wednesday & Thursday, 29-30 May (0830 - 1430)
Do you want to merge your passions and skills with a rewarding and fulfilling career? This workshop begins by having you assess and evaluate your particular skills, values, and interests. Then all the various aspects of the job search process are covered to include resume writing, interviewing, and use of social media. Build focus and self-confidence as you network with local and national employers!

DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS (DAV) MEDICAL RECORDS REVIEW.
Monday, 6 May (0800 - 1600) & Friday, 17 May (0800 - 1600) by Appointment only.
Individuals within 180 days of retirement or separation can have the DAV review their medical records. Must pre-register - call for an individual appointment.

CASUALTY NOTIFICATION OFFICER TRAINING.Tuesday, 14 May (1300 - 1400)
Provides in-depth information on the duty of being a casualty notification officer - how and why it's done.

SMOOTH MOVE (PCS). Tuesday, 7 May (0900 - 1000) & Thursday, 23 May (1500-1600)
Prepare for your Permanent Change of Station. Attendees receive a PCS folder specific to their assignment location.  Multiple presenters discuss relocation services and entitlements to make your transition a smooth one.

TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TAP) SEMINAR Monday - Friday, 13-17 May (0730 - 1630)
This 5-day workshop is for those who are preparing to retire or separate. The workshop is open to Active Duty, Reserve, Guard, of all branches of service to include DoD civilians and spouses of either. Attendees are eligible to attend 2 years (18 year point) from retirement date, or 12 months from separation date.

NEWCOMERS ORIENTATION. Thursday, 16 May (0900 - 1600) at the Falcon Club.
Mandatory for all newcomers to USAFA-sign-ups are taken by unit CSS.  A variety of briefings from on/off base programs introducing newly arrived personnel and spouses to key personnel and resources.

 

EFMP - Family Support (FS)

Ongoing Briefings:

GROUP PRESEPARATION BRIEFINGS Every Monday (except during TAP week) - (1400 -1600) Mandatory for all Military personnel retiring/separating. Spouses are welcome and encouraged to attend.

READINESS BRIEFINGS Pre-Deployment (Every Tuesday at 1100 or Thursday at 1400) and Post-Deployment Briefings - "WALK-IN". Spouses are highly encouraged to attend.
