Rental Riding

The USAF Academy Equestrian Center provides services and programs to active duty military families, retirees, DOD Civilians, and cadets. These programs include: rental riding, equestrian therapeutic program, and the Cadet "Leadership through Horsemanship" Program, an integral part of Cadet Character development. Trail riders can ride on the 1,000 acres of trails on base or take off for the back country of the adjacent Pike National Forest.  Rental riding is available Tuesday through Saturday from 0900 to 1700 with the last horse leaving the barn at 1600.  Children must be 5 years old or older to ride alone. The Equestrian Center is open on major holidays except Christmas and Thanksgiving.  In addition the Equestrian Center hosts special events such as horsemanship seminars, organized trail rides, and hay rides. Both English and Western riding lessons are available too. The Center has approximately 30 horses available for rent by the hour or day.

Rates

• First hour $20 per horse, each additional hour $10 per horse
• All day $65 per horse by reservation and availability
• Evening Family Guided Ride $75 per family by reservation only - for immediate family members
• Hay rides $75 for up to 20 people $4 per person after 20
• Leading only $5 per horse per half hour
